Group Outing to see The Dark Room: a gaming comedy show by fan John Robertson
John Robertson, Western Australian Fan, is going to be at the Melbourne Comedy Festival with his show ”The Dark Room” – a live, interactive tribute to 1980s video gaming, and we are organising an outing to his show on the 8th of April.

The audience is trapped in a dark room with a floating head that sounds like Brian Blessed. Members of the crowd are picked to play, with the scenario described by the floating head – and options appearing projected
on a screen. First person to escape and unlock the hidden storyline of the show wins $200 a commemorative dog tag. (Note: after seasons in Edinburgh, Perth, Brisbane, Adelaide and London – over 5,000 people have played. Two have won.)
It’s a great deal of fun and involves gaming, sci-fi, fantasy – and if that doesn’t quite do it, it was played in Edinburgh by Ian Livingstone, who created the Fighting Fantasy books. He didn’t win, but he fought beautifully.
We’re hoping to get together a group large enough to get a group discount (that’s 10 people), and also have a fun evening out, so if you’re interested email events@continuum.org.au with ‘the dark room’ in the subject line, and off we’ll go!
