April 2012 Archive

Continuum @ the movies – The Avengers!

It’s already getting excellent reviews – do we need to explain how much fun this movie’s going to be? Come join us this Sunday to see the superhero movie of the year.

When: Sunday 29 April, meet at 2:30 for a 3pm session
Where: Hoyts, Level 3, Melbourne Central
Cost: $15

RSVP by sending an email to events@continuum.org.au by 11am on 29 April with Avengers in the subject line and include your name, mobile number, & how many tickets you’d like. Payment is in cash on the day.

If you cannot attend after RSVPing, please let us know by 11am on Sunday as we buy tickets early to ensure all seats are together. Unfortunately if you let us know after that we will still require payment as the discounted tickets we use don’t allow returns.

Then catch up for a debrief with drinks and eatables after the movie.
Hope to see you there!

Seeking Panellists for Continuum 8!

We know you’ve all been eagerly awaiting the list of panels we’re presenting this year, well the wait is over!

We’re looking for people to provide a myriad of viewpoints on a whole lot of different topics to make our convention interesting, informative and entertaining.
You can find the full list over on the Program page of the website.

We’d also like to hear from people who are interested in doing presentations, academic or fun, especially sciencey ones.
And since our theme this year is craft, if there’s a skill you’d like to teach in a workshop we’d love to hear from you.

Of course if the programme is lacking something you’re passionate about, there’s still time to suggest new items.

To put your hand up for a panellist position, or dob in suggest someone you think would be awesome on a particular panel just email programming@continuum.org.au
