  • Attend and make reports to regular Continuum committee meetings

Name the Octopus Shortlist

We are pleased to announce the shortlist for the competition to name our crafty octopus. Thank you to everyone who entered – deciding on the shortlist was tougher than we expected!

  • Octavius Octonarii
  • Master Snick
  • Continuupus
  • Legless
  • Stephalopod

You can vote for your favourite name via Twitter (use the #nametheoctopus hashtag so we can track your votes), Facebook, email (info@continuum.org.au with the subject “Name the Octopus”), or just drop a comment on this post!

Voting closes 31 December 2011. The winning name will be announced in the new year.

Continuum @ The Movies – Immortals

It’s our last movie event for the year, so come kick off the silly season with an epic and bloody battle!
From the producers of 300, Immortals is set in the world of Greek gods, Theseus is a mortal man chosen by Zeus to lead the fight against the ruthless King Hyperion, who is on a rampage across Greece to obtain a weapon that can destroy humanity.
The trailer can be seen here:

Looks stunning right?

Unfortunately Melbourne Central has thrown small a spanner in the works (again!) by only screening Immortals in 3D which means we have to bump the price up to $18, plus $1 if you require 3D glasses. The box office price is $23.50 without glasses so you’re still getting a bargain by coming to the movies with us.

Here’s the essential details:
When: Sunday 27th November, meet at 3.45pm for the 4.10pm session
Where: Hoyts, Level 3, Melbourne Central
Cost: $18 or $19 if you require 3D glasses

It’s easy to join us, just RSVP by sending an email to events@continuum.org.au by 11am on 27th November with Immortals in the subject line and include your name, mobile number how many tickets you’d like and if you require 3D glasses or not. Payment is in cash on the day.

If you cannot attend after RSVPing, please let us know by 11am as we buy tickets early to ensure all seats are together. Unfortunately if you let us know after that we will still require payment as the discounted tickets we use don’t allow returns.

Then catch up for a debrief with drinks and eatables after the movie.
Hope to see you there!
